Nicole Duxbury
Psychotherapy, Shiatsu, Massage + Energy Work
The human journey is complex—one day we may feel hopeful and open to possibility; the next, we may find ourselves stuck in old patterns, deep in a cave of despair, fear, shame, or meaninglessness.
Nicole is passionate about healing and transformation—about engaging the potential of the human heart, psyche, and spirit to move beyond past traumas and hurts and to respond to present-day challenges with greater awareness and choice. She believes that as we free ourselves from limiting beliefs and old wounds, we begin to express more of our authentic truth—our unique gift to ourselves and to the world.
Nicole holds that personal healing ripples outward: as individuals heal, their relationships heal, and as relationships heal, communities heal. She welcomes the whole person into the therapeutic space, including gender and gender history, culture, ethnicity, life roles, and personal and ancestral stories. She works with teens and adults of all ages, including neurodiverse individuals and people of varying cognitive abilities.
Her psychotherapy practice emphasizes working with couples and partners (LGBTQIA+ and poly-affirming), the intersection of spiritual development and psychological healing, trauma and complex trauma, adoption, mind-body and holistic healing, and women’s issues and life transitions.
In her work with couples, Nicole uses Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT) to help partners discover or rediscover connection, trust, fulfillment, and support in their primary relationships.
Nicole is a deeply spiritual person engaged in ongoing inner work, with experience living and traveling internationally. Her background includes activism, youth work, community building through culture and the arts, and massage therapy. She is also an adoptee who has been in relationships—both challenging and secure—including cross-cultural partnerships.
