Cade Finn is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) with over a decade of experience in the mental health and substance use field. His work is grounded in a person-centered, trauma-informed, and anti-oppressive approach that centers empowerment, understanding, and non-judgment.

Cade provides individual and relational therapy for adults, including couples, families, friends, and non-traditional relationship structures. He works primarily with marginalized communities and specializes in serving the LGBTQIA+ community, offering gender-affirming care and support for identity exploration and expression. His areas of focus also include trauma, neurodiversity, substance use, sexual concerns, attachment wounds, and personal growth.

In addition to therapy, Cade facilitates outpatient co-occurring substance use groups for queer individuals who have completed residential or intensive outpatient programming and are seeking continued support in recovery. These in-person groups meet one to two days per week (three to six hours total) in Uptown Minneapolis (on a major bus line at Hennepin and 31st) and are available during both daytime and evening hours. The groups focus on reinforcing the tools gained in prior treatment while deepening mental health work, with optional family or partner group sessions to support holistic healing.

Cade’s clinical work draws from several modalities, including Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), transgenerational therapy, and attachment-based therapy. He is also trained in EMDR and Anchored Relational Therapy. Each client receives an individualized treatment plan co-created to ensure that care reflects their unique needs, strengths, and goals.

Sessions with Cade are rooted in kindness, sometimes humor, and above all, the belief that individuals are not defined by their problems. Healing is possible, and he considers it an honor to walk alongside clients on that path.

Cade accepts all major insurance plans, including Medicaid and Medicare in Minnesota. He offers individual therapy both in person and virtually, while all group sessions are held in person.
