Marakah Mancini de León

Marakah offers Somatic Experiencing—including Somatic Experiencing touch work—as well as craniosacral therapy, clinical massage therapy, lymphatic work, and reiki.

Marakah loves working with people of all genders and cultural backgrounds who are ready to heal themselves. She is continually amazed and delighted by the creative solutions that clients’ systems develop…and the way the healing continues after clients leave her treatment room.

Her work has been informed by each client she’s worked with, and by instructors and peers at Somatic Experiencing International, the Upledger Institute, Augsburg University, the Center for Victims of Torture, Park Nicollet, the Heartwood Institute, Northwestern Health Sciences University, Klose Training, Healing from the Core, Minka Brooklyn, Reiki by Esther, and the Third Root Community Health Center.

Marakah’s work is also informed by the lived experience of the working people she has supported and schemed with, through decades of work in the labor movement, the cooperative movement, and other social justice and collective healing work.

Marakah is comfortable doing complex work in English, Spanish and Portuguese, and communicating basic concepts in French and Somali.

Marakah started her Somatic Experiencing journey at the beginning of 2023, studying with Dea Parsanishi for the first two years, followed by Joshua Sylvae and Mahshid Hager. She completed the SEP program in the Spring of 2025, and began assisting shortly thereafter, under the leadership of Mariana Boccuzzi Raymundo and Edda Rodriguez. She continues to be delighted by everything this work brings to her clients.
