Marakah offers Somatic Experiencing (SE)—including body-centered trauma processing—as well as Craniosacral Therapy, Rehabilitative Massage Therapy, Lymphatic work, and Reiki.
Marakah loves working with people of all genders and cultural backgrounds who are ready to heal themselves. She is continually amazed and delighted by the creative solutions that clients' systems develop—and the way the healing continues long after clients leave her treatment room.

Marakah’s work is deeply rooted in anti-oppressive practice, liberation psychology, and systems theory. It is informed by the lived experiences of working people she has organized with, through decades of dedication to the progressive labor movement, the cooperative movement, and social justice collective healing work. Marakah also incorporates elements of narrative therapy, parts work, and other frameworks that best support her clients.
Languages: Marakah is fluent in English and Spanish, comfortable in Portuguese, and communicates basic concepts in French and Somali.
Specialties: Marakah has specialized in craniosacral therapy since 2018, and started offering Somatic Experiencing sessions in 2022. Marakah completed the 3-year certificate program to earn the Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP) designation in early 2025. She has also completed advanced, post-SEP training with Kathy Kain, who teaches Trauma Coupling Dynamics and advanced Touch Skills for Trauma Therapists.
Marakah serves as an assistant for new cohorts of Somatic Experiencing in English and Spanish. She does this work with the U.S.-based Somatic Experiencing International (SEI), as well as Uruguay's Fénix Instituto.
Marakah has been approved by SEI to provide personal educational sessions to beginning-level students of Somatic Experiencing. She offers her educational sessions at a reduced rate for SE students whose first language is Spanish, and who provide trauma therapy in Spanish.
Marakah holds a Master's in Social Work (MSW) in Anti-Oppressive Clinical Practice from Augsburg University and practices as a Licensed Graduate Social Worker (LGSW), under the supervision of Alison Hernández, LICSW.

Marakah works with adults over the age of 18. If you are searching for a specialist for an infant or youth in your life, Marakah is happy to provide referrals to skilled practitioners specializing in younger age groups.
Marakah’s website is able to accept HSA cards, FSA cards, and regular debit or credit cards. Have an HSA or FSA, but no debit card for it? She can provide receipts for your Health Savings Account (HSA) or your Flexible Spending Account (FSA) if needed.
